1. Scope
This policy explains how Hosteero (“Hosteero,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information when you use our websites, mobile applications, support channels, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
2. Information we collect
Account information
We collect information such as your name, email address, authentication identifiers, account preferences, and support communications. Authentication providers may process credentials on our behalf; Hosteero does not store your plaintext password.
Property and financial workspace information
You may provide property details, booking income, expenses, receipts, categories, notes, tax-preparation summaries, and imported files. This may include information you enter manually or import from booking platforms.
Connected financial accounts
If you connect an account through Plaid, Plaid collects your financial-institution login information and provides Hosteero with authorized account and transaction data. Hosteero does not receive or store your bank username or password. Connections are read-only unless a different permission is clearly presented to you.
Device, usage, and diagnostic information
We may collect device type, operating system, app version, IP address, request logs, crash details, and performance diagnostics needed to secure and improve the Services.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- provide dashboards, imports, classifications, exports, and connected-account features;
- authenticate users, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect the Services;
- respond to support requests and communicate service-related information;
- diagnose errors, monitor performance, and improve features; and
- comply with law and enforce our agreements.
4. How we disclose information
We disclose information only as reasonably necessary to service providers that help us operate Hosteero, such as hosting, database, authentication, bank-connection, email, analytics, and error-monitoring providers. Key providers currently include Clerk, Plaid, Vercel, database infrastructure providers, Sentry, and Resend. They process information under their own terms and our service arrangements.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Retention and deletion
We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the integrity of our systems. You can initiate permanent account deletion from Settings in the Hosteero app. Account deletion removes your Hosteero identity and associated workspace data, except information we must retain for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your device and account credentials.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, or restrict certain uses of your personal information. You may exercise available in-app controls or contact us. We will verify requests as reasonably necessary.
8. International processing
Hosteero and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international data transfers.
9. Children
The Services are intended for adults managing rental-property operations and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Services evolve. We will post the updated policy and revise the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or by email when appropriate.
